We all know the bottom line -- we die. We will leave this world behind, alone, and will enter into eternity. Reincarnation is a fallacy. Not even the most ancient of the world's religions taught it in their earliest forms.
The Bible teaches that each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment by God our creator.

What does eternity hold for you?
Jesus explained it this way:
"Unless you are born again [born from above, of God's Spirit] you cannot see the Kingdom of God."
"I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but by me."
"That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I AM who I claim to be, you will die in your sins."
The apostle John wrote, "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."
What this means is that the relationship you have with God at the time of your death is the relationship you will carry with you into eternity. If you have been born again by His Spirit, forgiven your sins and made into a new creature through faith in his Son Jesus, you will live eternally in his presence, in heaven.
If you die in your sins without being born again, not having that saving relationship with God through faith in Christ, you will enter eternity without God and that is called hell.
What is hell? It is existence without any trace of God.
Think about all of the beauty you enjoy now in this world. The sunsets, the mountains, lakes and oceans. Think of your cute pets, loving relationships, good health, talents. Think of the kindness shown you by people, the truths and wisdom you learn from day to day, the good humor shared by friends. We have these things now because of God's creating and sustaining presence everywhere in the world. Without him these things would not exist.

All that is of God, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, self control, creativity, sweetness, hope, and on and on -- it will all be totally and completely gone in hell. Every good thing God has created for the good of his human creatures will be utterly absent, because he will be absent -- for eternity.
All that will be left in hell is what we can already see in much of the world brought on by Satan and the demonic -- darkness, war, violence, anger, hatred, bitterness, ugliness, deceit, treachery, murder, perversions, unfaithfulness, hopelessness, the worship of anything and everything but the one, true God, and on and on.
Who or what is the source of your thoughts and beliefs about eternity? Buddha? Paramahansa Yogananda? Depak Chopra? Jane Fonda? Oprah Winfrey? Your own smorgasbord of ideas? Why are you trusting in them instead of Jesus? Think about it carefully, soberly. It is the most important thing you will think about in your one lifetime in this world.
Consider reading the Gospel of John; think and pray about it.
God loves us so much that he gave his Son Jesus Christ to die in our sins so that we would not have to die in them and perish in hell, but could have eternal life in his glorious presence through faith in Jesus.
